How many reviews does the widget show?
Widgets for unconnected businesses show five reviews — that is every review Google shares through its public Places API, chosen by Google’s own "most relevant" ranking (not ours to control). Can I show more reviews, sort them, or filter them by keyword?
Yes, free. The 5-review limit and Google-chosen selection are Google’s public API restrictions, not ours — connecting your Google Business Profile with a free account switches the widget to your complete synced review library. You can then show up to 50 reviews, order them newest-first or best-first, and filter by keywords (one or several, comma-separated): a restaurant’s brunch page can show only reviews mentioning brunch, a dentist’s implant page only implant reviews.
Will the widget slow down my website?
No. It is a single lightweight script (about 8 KB) that loads asynchronously after your content, and review data is served from an edge cache. It has no dependencies and will not block your page from rendering.
Do the reviews update automatically?
Yes. Review data is refreshed from Google roughly every 24 hours, so new reviews and rating changes show up on your site without you touching anything.
Can I show only my 4 and 5 star reviews?
Yes — there is a minimum-rating option. That said, showing all reviews often converts better: visitors trust a 4.7 with a few critical reviews more than a suspiciously perfect wall of 5 stars.
Do I need a Google Business Profile to use this?
Yes. The widget pulls reviews from your Google Business Profile listing. If you don’t have one yet, you can create a free listing at business.google.com.
